150th Birthday Bash and Russell Library Games Kickoff!

Saturday April 11th

Event Details

Russell Library is celebrating 150 years of public service to our community! Join us at 11:00 a.m. in the Lobby for some birthday cake (of course), and then enjoy an afternoon of fun activities around the library:

  • Sign up for the Russell Library Games: An interactive, competitive-yet-friendly, smartphone-based game that gets participants exploring the library, visiting Middletown landmarks, and patronizing local businesses – all while earning prizes and bragging rights. The Games will run from April 11 to November 17, 2026.
  • Celebrate Our History: Explore high school yearbooks and old photos, and share your memories of Russell Library from 1pm-2pm.
  • “Find Frances”: "Frances Russell" will tell stories about the history of Russell Library in various locales around the building from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm.
  • Two caricature artists: Get a fun drawing to take home.
  • Even more games: Bingo (please register), mega chess, air hockey, ping pong, puzzles, and board game stations.
  • Giveaways & Favors: Attendees will receive 150th-anniversary bookmarks and other favors, while supplies last.
