2 Fall From Scaffolding At Wesleyan University Construction Project

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Two workers fell from scaffolding at Wesleyan University Monday, authorities said.

Middletown Fire Chief Dave Albert said the two workers were at the project to construct a new science facility at the university and he estimated the fall to be between 30 and 40 feet.

Both were taken to Hartford Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Albert said both the Middletown fire marshal's office and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating just what happened.

The accident took place at about 10 a.m. at 20 Lawn Ave., occurred around 10 a.m., police said.

The names of the two workers have not been released.
