3 Injured After Lightning Strike Near Travelers Championship
Two of the victims were taken to hospitals for evaluation and the third refused treatment, according to the Cromwell Fire Department.

CROMWELL, CT — Three people were injured after lightning struck a tree Saturday near the Travelers Championship golf tournament.
Emergency personnel responded around 4:30 p.m. to multiple 911 calls for a lightning strike near Pierson Green, a residential area just north of the fifth green at TPC River Highlands, where the PGA Tour tournament is played.
Two of the victims were taken to hospitals for evaluation and the third refused treatment, according to the Cromwell Fire Department.

The third round of the tournament was suspended around 4 p.m. Saturday due to inclement weather. Sunday was the last day of the championship.
