5th Suspect Arrested In Middletown Hookah Lounge Homicide

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police have arrested a fifth suspect in a hookah lounge homicide investigation.

Late last week, Chauncey Wilson, 26, was served a warrant charging him with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He is currently in custody on a $1 million bond and is due in court on Aug. 20, according to judicial system records.

The shooting took place at 3:49 a.m. on May 11 at the Hidden Hookah Lounge on the 600 block of Main Street, according to police.

According to a police report, the victim, identified as 20-year-old Jonathan Semidey, was transported from the scene to Middlesex Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Multiple shooters were identified. According to a police report, several shots were fired and Semidey was hit. The Middletown Police Department Major Investigations Unit and the MPD Street Crime Unit identified and arrested three men for murder and conspiracy to commit murder on Sept. 7 — 25-year-old Akeil Booker, 23-year-old Gene Daniels and Gianni Marmol, 27, according to a police report.

Judicial system records show that Booker is out on a $1 million bond and is due in court on Aug. 27, Daniels is being held on a $1 million bond and is due in court on Sept. 10 and Marmol is being held on bonds totaling $750,100 with a court date of Aug. 13.

Mayraines "Winter" Nunez, 22, was charged with evidence tampering and hindering prosecution, according to a police report. He is currently released on a $100,000 bond with a court date of Sept. 18, records show.

On Aug. 2, a warrant was served to Wilson.
