Police seized $8,400 worth of cocaine and other items during a traffic stop in Middletown, according to officials.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — Police seized $8,400 worth of cocaine during a traffic stop earlier this week in Middletown.
Patrol officers initiated the stop on Bretton Road in the area of Jacobs Terrace on Monday.
The driver was identified as 32-year-old Dwight Brown of New Britain, and police said probable cause was developed to search Brown and the vehicle.

The search resulted in the seizure of approximately 83.62 grams of cocaine, multiple cell phones, and a large amount of money, according to police. The seized cocaine was valued at $8,400, police said.
Brown was arrested and charged with operating an unregistered vehicle, failure to obey stop sign, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, and possession with intent to sell >1/2 ounce cocaine by a non-drug dependent person.

He was released after posting a $50,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 22, according to state judicial records.
