As Middletown Companies Battle House Blaze, Mutual Aid Crews Rush To Truck Fire

MIDDLETOWN, CT — While crews from several Middletown departments were working on a house fire on East Street Sunday night, a truck caught on fire on Interstate 91, Westfiled FD officials said.

Both took place just before 8:30 p.m.

Mutual aid companies from East Berlin Fire Rescue and Cromwell Fire responded to the truck incident on the southbound side of the highway and made quick work of it.

The East Street house fire left four displaced. One resident was taken to Middlesex hospital.

A firefighter was also taken to the hospital with minor during the house fire, officials said.

The investigation by the Westfield Fire Marshal's Office is continuing.
