• Middletown PZC Denies Plans For Chick-fil-A, Credit Union Approved Next Door (patch.com) — Middletown's Planning and Zoning Commission has rejected a proposed Chick-fil-A with dual drive-thru lanes on Washington Street, while approving a neighboring Dutch Point Credit Union on the same shared site plan. The restaurant plan, which involved relocating the historic Partridge-Southmayd Homestead to Guilford, may return if the applicant revises the proposal to address commissioners' concerns.

• A look at CT's top high school football performances for Week 3 (middletownpress.com) — Middletown High football players earned standout recognition in a statewide roundup of Week 3 performances, led by big games from Nick Cyril, Da'Zhor Duggins, and quarterback Matteo Fletcher in a 52–6 win over Rocky Hill.
