CT's veterans cemetery is getting a major boost with nearly $600k in funds (courant.com) β Middletown's State Veterans Cemetery is receiving nearly $600,000 in federal funding to add more than 1,500 new burial plots and upgrade its entrance, fencing, landscaping, and infrastructure. Serving over 357,000 veterans and families, the Bow Lane cemetery's expansion will significantly improve long-term burial options for local veterans and their loved ones.

Local employers also welcomed new chamber members, learned about free promotional and staff-support benefits, and used the event to network, swap opportunities, and strengthen connections across the region's 50,000-worker membership.

VIDEO: West Hartford Cops Fired At Middletown Homicide Suspect In Hartford Chase: State (patch.com) β Middletown residents should know that a local homicide suspect was arrested after a dangerous police pursuit that began with a Middletown police alert and ended in Hartford, where officers exchanged gunfire with the man. He's now charged in connection with a woman's death in Middletown and has already appeared in Middletown Superior Court as state investigators review the officers' use of force.
