Missing Dog Robyn Rescued In Middletown After 11-Day Search (patch.com) — Middletown readers helped save Robyn, a runaway rescue dog that vanished for 11 days after escaping her new Massachusetts home and turning up injured in town. Middletown Animal Control, local volunteers, and neighbors used feeding stations, cameras, and a humane trap to capture her safely, and she is now recovering from hip surgery with her owner by her side.
   

2. CT's veterans cemetery is getting a major boost with nearly $600k in funds (courant.com) — Middletown's State Veterans Cemetery is receiving nearly $600,000 in federal funding to add more than 1,500 new burial plots and upgrade its entrance, fencing, landscaping, and infrastructure. Serving over 357,000 veterans and families, the Bow Lane cemetery's expansion will significantly improve long-term burial options for local veterans and their loved ones.
   

3. UConn's Dan Hurley shares insight into his winning formula at annual Middlesex Chamber of Commerce meeting (wtnh.com) — Middletown's business community packed the annual Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce breakfast to hear UConn men's basketball coach Dan Hurley share how he motivates teams under intense pressure. Local employers also welcomed new chamber members, learned about free promotional and staff-support benefits, and used the event to network, swap opportunities, and strengthen connections across the region's 50,000-worker membership.
   

4. Best Halloween Decorations in CT: Streets & Neighborhoods (mommypoppins.com) — Middletown families can head to Blue Orchard Drive for a nightly, music-synced Halloween light and decoration show running through October, easily viewed from the road. The statewide roundup also highlights other standout decorated streets, plus tips on timing visits, parking, and staying safe while touring popular neighborhood displays across Connecticut.
   

5. VIDEO: West Hartford Cops Fired At Middletown Homicide Suspect In Hartford Chase: State (patch.com) — Middletown residents should know that a local homicide suspect was arrested after a dangerous police pursuit that began with a Middletown police alert and ended in Hartford, where officers exchanged gunfire with the man. He's now charged in connection with a woman's death in Middletown and has already appeared in Middletown Superior Court as state investigators review the officers' use of force.
