Another ATM Theft Ring Member Arrested In Middletown: Police

A third person has been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries targeting ATMs in Middletown and throughout CT, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A third man has been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries targeting ATMs in Middletown and throughout the state, according to police.

Rafael Delvalle, 24, of New Britain, was arrested Nov. 4 on a 31-count arrest warrant for corrupt organizations and racketeering activity, various burglary/larceny charges, and criminal mischief charges, according to Middletown police.

“During a year-long extensive investigation, Middletown Police detectives, working cooperatively with the New Britain Police Department, the FBI, and many other agencies, identified Rafael Delvalle as an active member of an organization operating out of New Britain CT that strategically targeted ATMs in commercial burglaries throughout CT,” police wrote in a news release. “Several of the burglaries had occurred at businesses in Middletown.”

Police previously arrested Nelson Colon-Davila and Joanberto Rivera in connection with the ATM thefts and related burglaries.

Delvalle was being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond with a court date of Dec. 16, according to state judicial records.

“The Middletown Police Department will continue to investigate this organization targeting ATMs, and anticipates further arrests,” police said.
