One night a year, they crawl from the depths of their warm beds, wiping off sleep’s heavy veil to clamber into their cars and trek to the big boxes and battle the crowds for the ultimate deal on flat screen TVs, Tonka trucks and housewares.

Yes, it’s almost time for Black Friday, and thousands of coffee-toting, bleary-eyed shoppers are preparing to descend on Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy and a bevy of other establishments in hopes of scoring sweet deals on … stuff. Of course, manners are optional.

Will you be braving the crowds at midnight? 3 a.m.? 5 a.m.? Or will you wait to pick through the scraps once dawn breaks? Or sift through the rubble later in the day?

Or, would you sooner be caught streaking through downtown than take part in the madness of Black Friday?
