Armed Robbery Suspect Found On Roof: Middletown Police
Police said the man, accused of robbing a gas station, was found after K-9 Koda started a track that led to the roof of a nearby business.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A man has been charged in connection with the armed robbery of a gas station in Middletown late Saturday night, according to police.
Police responded to the Shell Gas Station on South Main Street around 10:45 p.m. on the report of an armed robbery in progress.
Arriving officers were told the suspect, later identified as Amilcar Lopez, ran away heading north, according to police.

“Officer Bloom and K-9 Koda started a track that led to the roof of a nearby business,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “With the assistance of officers TJ Ganley and St. Peter, Lopez was located and taken into custody. Lopez was positively identified by the victim and it was determined he acted alone.”
Lopez, 28, was arrested on charges of first-degree robbery, carrying a dangerous weapon, assault on public safety, interfering with an officer, first-degree criminal trespass and failure to fingerprint. He was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.
