Sidewalk Improvements Coming To Portland
Portland walkers will enjoy expanded and repaired sidewalks in the next few years. According to Director of Public Works Ryan O’Halpin, plans are completed for a new sidewalk along Riverside Street, connecting Chatham Court apartments with the commercial area along Route 66/Marlborough Street. Source To Sea Cleanup On River Road
On September 24, about 35 hard-working volunteers removed many bags of trash, a mattress, 5 tires, several coolers, discarded clothing, and many other items from River Road in Middletown and from the shore of the Connecticut River near the decommissioned sewage treatment plant. Read more here.

The Future of Pameacha Pond & Dam
A significant community debate about the future of Pameacha Pond—related to the question of removal or replacement of the deteriorated dam—is taking place. The Jonah Center is planning to host a community Zoom Town Hall on the subject in the next month or so. Stay tuned for specific details on this event.
