MIDDLETOWN, CT — A popular authentic Italian bakery is opening in Middletown early next year, according to the Middletown Press.

The Press reports Mozzicato DePasquale Bakery is opening its fourth Connecticut location at 762 Washington Street in early January.

“For generations, Mozzicato DePasquale Bakery and Pastry Shop has been producing the finest Italian pastries, cakes, cookies, and breads,” according to the bakery’s website. “Nestled in the Italian section of Hartford, Connecticut, people near and far can delight in frequenting the bakery and pastry shop and the adjacent caffé.”

The bakery will be a welcome addition to Middletown as the city hasn’t had an authentic Sicilian retail store since Taste of Italy closed its bakery earlier this year, according to the Middletown Press.
