Berlin Redcoats Top Blue Dragons in Girls Tennis

In a Central Connecticut Conference South girl's tennis match played at , the Berlin Redcoats girl's tennis team defeated the Middletown Blue Dragons 6-1.

Berlin swept all three doubles matches, led by Meg Pitkin and Kelly Josephson's 6-1, 6-0 victory over Maya Eriksen and Melina Rothert. Stephanie and Caroline Zembko also won in straight sets over Bethany Hong and Corinne O'Toole 6-0, 6-2, as did Emma Johnson and Autumn Edelson over Marissa and Amanda Bowen 6-1, 6-3.

In singles matches, the Redcoats' Eva Rybka won over Megan Shepard 6-1, 6-2; Kelly Byrnes defeated Ritu Mehe 6-2, 6-4; and Monica Sirera won a tough three-set decision over Dhrui Patel 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.  Berlin's Shawna Rosol dropped a 4-6, 4-6 decision to Alex Kurik.

Berlin improves to 3-4 on the season, while Middletown goes to 3-3.

The Redcoats return back to the courts on Thursday May 3 against Bristol Central at Berlin High.
