Bond Commission To Decide On Funds For 2 Middletown Dams

MIDDLETOWN, CT — State money could soon be on its way to help two dams in Middletown get refurbished.

Funds requested by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection include both Dooley Pond and Crystal Lake dams. The State Bond Commission is scheduled to vote on the funding at its Dec. 15 meeting.

A total of $2 million has been proposed for the Crystal Lake Dam. The dam is located at the northernmost part of the lake where it meets Prout Brook:

A total of $350,000 has been proposed for Dooley Pond Dam, located at the northern section of the pond at Long Hill Brook inside a horseshoe formed by Brush Hill Road, Long Hill Road and Coleman Road:

The Dec. 15 Bond Commission meeting is slated for 10:30 a.m. at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
