Ladybug Boutique — Hidden Gem Supporting Local Artisans
Ladybug Boutique is the perfect antidote for the winter doldrums.

There are some places I go that always make me feel good. Ladybug Boutique is one of my favorites. Tucked away on College Street, it is so easy to miss and yet so much fun to seek out. I have whiled away many a stolen hour in Ladybug Boutique, chatting with Amy the Owner and seeing what she has that is new and interesting.
And when my little vice has gotten out, I have fielded quite a few questions and remarks about it. People have asked what I could possibly buy in such a place, the inference being that Ladybug Boutique doesn't sell the necessities of life. And therein lies the charm. No, a ladybug pill case is not a necessity. But is it not a lovely little treasure to behold when one is out and about and needs to take one's vitamins? And how about those repurposed finebone china cake plates? I do love them.
They'd be perfect to set out on the table with lovely little tea cakes on them. Utterly fabulous and unique in that vintage sort of way. Not to mention the stemware. Wine glasses with hand-painted ladybugs on them. (Handpainted, might I add, by a local artist.) Tres cute. It is items such as these - everyday items for the home - that are so artfully presented that make a visit there well worth the trek.

Last but not least there is Amy the Owner herself. Always smiling. Always cheerful. So easy to chat with as one browses. Amy, I chose this song for you and your little shop as you always do make me smile. Enjoy.
All the best on this late February afternoon,
