The Purple Elephant is now speeders in Middletown.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Speeders Car Wash has opened a new express car wash location in Middletown and will mark the launch by offering 10 days of free car washes to customers beginning July 10.
The new facility, located at 913 Washington St. in Middletown, will provide complimentary washes from July 10 through July 19 as part of the grand opening celebration, company officials announced.
The Middletown site is the latest addition for Speeders Car Wash, a membership-based brand operated by Summit Wash Holdings, which has locations in Connecticut, New York, Nebraska, New Jersey, Missouri and Florida.

“The Northeast has been central to our growth story, and Connecticut is a market we’re committed to for the long term,” Ray Underwood, the chief development officer for Summit Wash Holdings, said in a statement.
Underwood said the Middletown location is the first of four car wash sites being converted and rebranded following Summit’s acquisition of Purple Elephant, which was finalized in March.

“This is a milestone we’re proud of,” Underwood said. “Every new Speeders location is an opportunity to show up for the local community, support our people, and deliver the experience our customers expect.”
Speeders traces its roots to the longtime Russell Speeder’s Car Wash brand, which has operated for more than 50 years and serves customers in multiple states.
According to the company, Speeders focuses on express car wash services using automated technology and environmentally safe cleaning products.

Summit Wash Holdings was established in 2022 and has expanded through acquisitions, including Waters Carwash in Florida and the expansion of Speeders branding into New Jersey in 2025.

The chain is also launching a limited-time promotion tied to America’s 250th birthday, offering customers the chance to purchase any car wash package for $2.50 during the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
The special promotion will run July 3 through July 5, allowing customers in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey to register online for the discounted offer. Once claimed, the promotion can be redeemed at any of the company’s more than 35 locations through July 31.
Company officials said the promotion is intended to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary, or semiquincentennial, while also thanking the communities the company serves throughout the Northeast.
“As our nation marks 250 years of history, we wanted to recognize this milestone by giving back to the customers and communities who support us year-round,” Kevin Matthews, chief operating officer of Summit Wash Holdings, the parent company of Speeders, said in a statement.
“This special offer is a way for us to join in the celebration and thank our customers for choosing Speeders,” Matthews said.
According to the company, the $2.50 offer applies to any wash package and may be redeemed one time during the month of July.
Customers interested in claiming the deal can register between July 3 and July 5 through the Speeders Fourth of July promotion page.
