MIDDLETOWN BOARD OF EDUCATION

My name is Charles Wiltsie and I am a resident of Middletown. I am happily married to Katherine “Kate” Wiltsie and between us we have 5 children, Tito, Leni, Melanie, Samantha and Hannah, all have attended parochial and public schools in Middletown.

As active parents, in collaboration with teachers and administrators, our children had a positive educational experience leading them to rewarding careers. I subscribe to the idea ascribed to Martin Luther King, when he said, “The function of education is to teach one to think intensivesly and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.”

Background:
I, along with my wife are managing partners, of Lypossage esthétiques International, LLC, and TrainLMT.com. I am the Director of Continuing Education for TrainLMT.com. I am also a former Teacher, Regional Program Director and Director of Education for Branford Hall Career Institute and work, from time-to-time as a substitute teacher for Kelly Educational Services.

I am a graduate of Xavier High School (1972) and a graduate of Brigham Young University, Idaho with a B.S. Degree. I am an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was active in politics for many years but stepped away to focus on family. Now that the children are grown, I am excited to be involved again. With my experience as a parent, educator and administrator, within the post-secondary trade school environment, and self employed businessperson, I can collaborate to continue building on Middletown's School System pursuit of excellence.
