Middletown Falls To New Canaan In Class L Football Playoffs
The Blue Dragons took on the eighth-seeded Rams in the Class L quarterfinals Tuesday night in Middletown.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The Middletown football team’s impressive season came to an end with a 24-9 loss to defending champion New Canaan in the Class L quarterfinals Tuesday night in Middletown. The top-seeded Blue Dragons finished the season with a 10-1 record, while the eighth-seeded Rams improved to 9-2 and advanced to a semifinal showdown with No. 5 Masuk on Sunday afternoon.
DeAaron Lawrence connected on a 10-yard touchdown pass with Stone Belzo and Michael Aresco kicked a 37-yard field goal for Middletown, according to GameTimeCT.
Middletown coach Sal Morello told Jim Bransfield of GameTimeCT that New Canaan is the best team they’ve seen this season and that his team had a great ride and “it was a joy to coach them every day.”
