‘Click It Or Ticket’ Campaign Announced In Middletown
Police will be cracking down on seat-belt violations throughout Thanksgiving week and weekend.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A “Click It or Ticket” campaign will take place in Middletown throughout Thanksgiving week and weekend, police announced on Friday. Police say they will promote “safe driving and increase the protection of all motorists” by participating in the “Click It of Ticket, Day & Night” wave that will take place from Nov. 25 through Dec. 2.
“Middletown Police Officers will be out on Middletown’s roads enforcing the State Occupant Protection Laws and issuing citations to those who are unbuckled,” police said in a press release. “The Thanksgiving holiday is one of the busiest travel times of the year, which means more vehicles will be on the roads. Increased vehicle activity leads to the potential for more crashes and more fatalities.
“Failing to buckle up puts you and other vehicle passengers in a potentially deadly situation. It's also against the law - plain and simple. There is never an excuse to not wear your seat belt.”
