Middletown Cops: Dad and Girlfriend Charged After Juvenile Reports Heroin Use on Road Trip

Two people are facing charges after a juvenile called police to tell them that his father and his father’s girlfriend were shooting heroin while on a road trip, according to police.

Police received the call on Jan. 10 and officers were dispatched to a Main Street address, according to police.

The juvenile told police his father, Lawrence Massey, 40, of Gloversville, NY and his father’s girlfriend Adrienne Leonard, 22, also of Gloversville, stopped several times during a road trip to “shoot up heroin,” according to a report. He said he witnessed it several times.

The juvenile then told police where the car was parked and where the drugs were.

Police approached the vehicle and found both Massey and Leonard in it. Massey allegedly admitted there were drugs in the car and gave consent to search, but said whatever they found wasn’t his.

Police found nine bundles of heroin, marijuana and needles.

Both were charged with risk of injury to a minor, possession of narcotics, possession of less than four ounces marijuana, possession of drugs near a school and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
