Coronavirus Middletown: Parent Of Xavier Student Tests Positive

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A parent of a Xavier High School student has tested positive for the new coronavirus, according to the Middletown Press.

The Press reports the person, who is not being identified by health officials, was at the school March 10 for a sophomore parent guidance program. Officials say the person wasn’t in close contact with others while at Xavier, according to the Press.

“This news confirms what we already knew was coming: the virus is here and spreading in our region,” Mayor Ben Florsheim wrote in a post on Facebook. “Please keep the Xavier community and all of our neighbors in your thoughts—we have to look out for each other. Wash hands, stay home.”
