Crews Extinguish Multiple Fires In Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Crews extinguished separate fires in different sections of Middletown on Wednesday afternoon.

Officials were alerted around 1 p.m. of an outside fire in a parking lot in the Westfield section of the city that was visible from I-91 South.

“Westfield Tanker 4 started to I91 to get a better location and Engine 5 responded to a business on middle street,” officials wrote in a post on the Westfield Fire Department’s Facebook page. “While responding Westfield units were told the fire location would be on industrial park road. First arriving LT called a working fire in the duct work that spread to an outside hopper at a business. Engine 5 arrived on scene and stretched a line while Westfield 4 established water supply.

“Cromwell was requested to the scene as there was a 2nd fire at a residence in the city. Westfield units along with an engine from Cromwell handled the fire in district. No injuries being reported. Thank you to East Berlin for providing station coverage.”

The City of Middletown firefighters also responded to a fire around 1 p.m.

Crews extinguished an attic fire at a home.

The fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshals Office, according to officials.
