Cricket Wireless is Not Quiet

It’s a chilly Tuesday in March and the soup kitchen is teeming with life. A whole community of people shares a hot meal while talking over UCONN men’s basketball’s woes and the women’s success.

"Philanthropy is part of Cricket's cultural DNA. We work with national and regional charities to make a significant impact where it matters most – in the community," said Dawn Benton, assistant vice president, corporate communications, Cricket Wireless. "Whether donating cell phones and wireless service or helping a worthy citizen renovate their home, Cricket prioritizes giving back."

Cricket Wireless is a wholly owned subsidiary, making it the primary pre-paid brand of AT&T. The Cricket Wireless store in Middletown is open at 442 Main Street from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM Monday through Saturday, Sunday’s from Noon ‘till 5 PM.

St. Vincent de Paul Middletown (SVDM) provides service to the community in four ways: They operate a Soup Kitchen and the Amazing Grace Food Pantry. Collectively the two facilities serve over 1000 families every month. SVDM manages a Community Assistance Program that helps with rent, energy assistance and with other individual needs. SVDM also provides individual support for 78 formerly chronically homeless persons who have been successfully housed at great financial savings to the community.
