Cyclist Bowled Over By Pickup In Middletown Hit-And-Run Incident: Police
A cyclist and pickup truck collided in Middletown Thursday, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The driver of a pickup truck fled a crash scene in Middletown after tangling with a cyclist, police said.
At 5:04 p.m. Thursday, Middletown officers were dispatched to the intersection of Silver Street and Eastern Drive for the report of a motor vehicle versus bicyclist accident.
According to an incident report, a bicyclist was traveling west on Silver Street and was turning north onto Eastern Drive when he was struck by a white pickup truck that was traveling in the same direction.

The bicyclist then lost control, fell to the ground, and sustained a "moderate" head injury, according to an incident report.
The white pickup left the scene without stopping and traveled Route 9 northbound, according to an incident report. Police said witnesses were unable to provide further details on the make or model of the evading vehicle.

The bicyclist was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he is listed stable condition, police said.
Police said the case remains an active investigation and the name of the bicyclist is not being released.
