December 7th 1941

18 Connecticut men who gave their lives for our Freedom

One of the 18 Connecticut Heroes who died on December 7th 1942 was:

Stanislaus Joseph Orzech

of Meriden. He was a Seaman Second Class in the US Navy on the USS Arizona. The ship was one of many that was bombed and sanked by the Japanese. His remains where never found but he is one of the Tablets of the Missing at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Here is the list of the Connecticut casualties at Pearl Harbor. Ten of the 18 men from CT that died at Pearl Harbor were serving on the USS Arizona (BB-39) and are still interred there.
