Driver Found With Loaded Gun, Drugs After Stop: Middletown Police
A convicted felon was arrested on gun and drug charges after a traffic stop in Middletown, according to police.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Rocky Hill man was arrested after police said he was found to be in the possession of a loaded gun and crack cocaine during a traffic stop Wednesday in Middletown.
Police pulled over Michael Jackson, 32, in the area of Stack Street in Middletown. Police said probable cause was developed to search Jackson and his vehicle.
“As a result of that search, Jackson was located in possession of a Glock 19 handgun with extended 31 round magazine that was loaded with 25 rounds as well as 1 round in the chamber,” police wrote in a news release. “He was also in possession of 25.99 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, multiple cell phones, and a large sum of U.S. currency. A juvenile was also located in Jackson’s vehicle during the stop.”

Police said Jackson is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms. His driver’s license was also suspended.
Jackson was arrested and charged with failure to obey a stop sign, operating with a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a school zone, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia in a school zone, possession with intent to sell, possession with intent to sell within a school zone, sale of controlled substance, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm, violation of pistol permit requirement, illegal sale/purchase of large capacity magazine, and risk of injury to a minor.

He was released after posting a $100,000 bond with a court date of Nov. 19, according to state judicial records.
