Drug, Theft Arrest Made In Middletown: PD

Two people were arrested after a theft at Bobs Store.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Shelton woman and Southington man were arrested following the theft of about $1,000 in merchandise from Bobs Store Jan. 8, according to police.

Officers were notified about the theft and given a description of the getaway vehicle. An officer pulled the vehicle over shortly after the reported theft. A child was located in the vehicle, but wasn't in a proper rear-facing seat, police said.

Inside the vehicle was stolen merchandise, two handguns, five crack pipes on the vehicle floor, 2.66 grams of crack cocaine in the man's jacket, according to police. The handguns were properly registered, but weren't properly secured in the vehicle. One was unloaded and the other was loaded with a round in the chamber, police said.

About .81 grams of suspected marijuana hash in the woman's bag along with a digital scale, around $166 in cash and four crack pipes. A spring-loaded knife was also found.

Another .78 grams of suspected crack cocaine was found in a small plastic bottle.

Jeffery McIntyre, 49, of Southington said he gave his girlfriend Autumn Green, 23, of Shelton money to purchase clothing for the three of them, but she came back to the vehicle without shopping bags or a receipt and later realized she had stolen the merchandise, police said. He had $644 in his pants when searched by police.

McIntyre was charged with, possession with intent to sell, failure to properly store a firearm, carrying a dangerous weapon, risk of injury to a child, failure to properly secure a child in a vehicle and conspiracy.

Green was charged with fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy, carrying a dangerous weapon, risk of injury to a minor, illegal weapon in a motor vehicle, possession with intent to sell and failure to properly secure a child in a vehicle. Both were held in lieu of $75,000.
