Everyone Outside: Tackling Nature Deficit Disorder, One Person, One Classroom at a Time
Join us this month and hear about Everyone Outside, an innovative, county-based education program that is bringing kids and adults out to explore the natural world just outside their doorsteps and schoolyards. Program founder, geologist and outdoor educator Lucy Meigs will give us on overview of her multi-faceted approach that includes an interactive website, free classroom curriculum for teachers, field trips, guided hikes and a volunteer docent program to be launched this spring.
Lucy began the program, she says, “to get more people outside enjoying the natural world and help promote healthy living and environmental stewardship.” The program was created and funded in part by The Rockfall Foundation, with portions sponsored by Connecticut Forest & Park Association and Durham Recreation.

Meet Your Greens is Middlesex County's monthly green drinks happy-hour network providing opportunities to make connections and exchange news about environmental issues in Middlesex County. Based on the popular Green Drinks in CT and nationwide, this informal gathering of people drawn from the community, nonprofit groups and the business world offers time to brainstorm ideas and plant seeds for collaboration. All are welcome with no reservations or advanced registration necessary.
