MIDDLETOWN, CT — Expansion plans for the iconic Nardelli's Grinder Shoppe chain include Middletown.
A facebook post has added the city to Enfield, East Lyme and Sturbridge over the Massachusetts line.

Nardelli's has been a fixture for stuffed sandwiches since 1922 when its first shop opened in Waterbury.
The chain has won several awards in several polls over the years. Nardelli’s was also featured in Food & Wine magazine as Connecticut’s top regional fast food.
Nardelli's is no stranger to Middletown and will actually be returning. In 2011, it opened at 396 Washington St. and was there for 11 years.
