MIDDLETOWN, CT — A man has died after being stabbed early Sunday morning in Middletown, according to police. The man was found with stab wounds in the area of Washington Street and Pearl Street on June 7. Police found the man responsive and in need of medical assistance around 2 a.m., according to the Middletown Press.

In an update Sunday night, Lt. Heather Desmond said the man died from his injuries.

“We are respecting the family’s privacy and we will not be releasing the identity,” Desmond said in a news release. “We ask that you join us in respecting the privacy of the victim’s family on social media and wait for the official release of the victim’s identity. We will be releasing the victim’s name in the near future. We would also like to send our condolences to the victim’s family and friends during the difficult time.

“The Middletown Police Department’s Major Investigations Division is rigorously following up all leads in this death investigation. We are looking for the public’s help with any additional information they may have about the incident. In addition, anyone with security cameras in the area of Washington St and Pearl St is urged to contact the Middletown Police Department at 860-638-4000 with any video footage or information.”
