Firefighters Make Quick Work Of 2nd Floor House Fire Near CT River

PORTLAND, CT — Firefighters from multiple towns made quick work on a stately home near the Connecticut River early Tuesday morning, officials said.

The fire broke out at 3:46 a.m. on Indian Hill Road. Firefighters from Middletown and Portland converged on the scene and were able to contain it to the second floor early-on, officials said.

No injuries were reported and the fire was contained to the room of origin, officials said.
