First Connecticut Beer Idol Event Set for Saturday in Middletown
The home-brew competition, which has 47 brews vying to become CT's Beer Idol, is part of the fifth annual Brew with a View event.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — There will be 47 home brews vying to be the best in the first Connecticut Beer Idol event Saturday in Middletown.
The home-brew competition will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mattabesett Canoe Club, 80 Harbor Drive in Middletown, on Oct. 22 as part of the fifth annual Brew with a View event.
The event will benefit co-hosts Middletown’s North End Action Team and SamPoll, a Farmington Mobile App company that helps people rate beer samples on their phone, according to the Middletown Press.

According to the event listing on Facebook it will be the “first BJCP sanctioned event where people will be placing their votes via the SamPoll Mobile App. You will not be allowed to place your vote without the SamPoll App.
“Prizes will be given based on how many votes you place during CT Beer Idol so score as many beers for a chance to win the top prizes at the event!”

Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door.
