Firsts for Xavier, Wesleyan Hockey Teams
Prof Gallitto Youth Basketball League in the thick of another successful season
Five
The Middletown YMCA will be hosting “Bounce Bonanza” on Sat. Jan. 22 from
2-4 p.m. The gymnasium will be filled with a bounce house, inflatable
slide and more opportunities for bouncing. The event is free for members
and $5 for guests (with a $10 family maximum).
Four
Xavier High basketball alumni are welcomed back to Kohs Gym at Xavier for
alumni basketball games each Wednesday at 7 p.m. throughout the winter.

Xavier hockey beat Hamden High for the first time ever last week. The 4-3
win, coupled with a win North Haven, gives the Falcons a 7-3 overall
record and 2-0 in the SCC. Hamden had been ranked No. 1 in the state
before Xavier knocked them off. Xavier is now ranked No. 2 in the state,
behind only 8-0 New Canaan. Xavier’s upcoming game at Notre Dame-West
Haven will be broadcast live on www.sportingnewsct.com on Sat. Jan. 22 at
1 p.m.
One
The Wesleyan men’s ice hockey team beat the
Middlebury College hockey team, 4-3, in overtime last Saturday. The game
was the first team Wesleyan has ever beat Middlebury in men’s hockey, not
to mention beating them up in Vermont. The Cardinals now have an all-time
record of 1-32-2.
