Gasoline Prices in Connecticut Fall Below $2 a Gallon

But in order to get the extra savings at the pump, you're going to have to travel to Middletown or Waterbury.

There’s good news and bad news concerning the price of gasoline in the state.

The good news is prices continue to nosedive quickly and the days of almost paying $5 a gallon for gas seem like a distant memory, but it appears you’ll have to drive to Middletown or Waterbury to get gas for less than $2.

According to Connecticut Gas Prices.com five of the seven gas station that sell gasoline for under $2 a gallon in the state are located in Middletown. The other two are located in Waterbury.

The cheapest gas in the state belongs to Gasman, 28 Broad Street in Middletown, and Sunoco, 519 Washington Avenue in Middletown. Both businesses are selling gasoline for $1.97.

Next is Fuel Plus, 708 Washington Avenue and Old Mill Road in Middletown, which is charging $1.98.

Costco in Waterbury is charging $1.99 and Winz at 3448 East Main Street also in Waterbury is selling gas for $1.99.

Back in Middletown, Citgo, 572 Washington Street, and Irving, 543 Washington Street, are both charging $1.99 each.

Right behind them are Valero, 301 Berlin Turnpike and Citgo, 109 Berlin Turnpike, both of Berlin selling gas for $2.04 a gallon.

On the other end of spectrum the Citgo at 440 Sport Hill Road in Easton is charging $3.99 a gallon, followed by Berkshire Petroleum, 11 Universal Drive in North Haven at $3.79 and Valero, 224 Quinnipiac Avenue both of North Haven at $3.32.

Other businesses selling gasoline for more than $3 a gallon in Connecticut include: Mobil, 302 Post Road E in Westport at $3.31, Shell, 24 Main St. N in Woodbury at $3.16, Sunoco, 1285 High Ridge Road in Stamford, at $3.05, and Citgo, 88 Mill Plain Road in Danbury at $3.01 a gallon.
