Instacart, a grocery delivery service, released some year-end statistics showing what people across the United States ordered in 2021. Nearly half of all Americans reported they had groceries delivered to their house during the pandemic, a survey by the company said.
Neighbors in Middletown ordered ground chicken, Vidalia onions, rose apples, heavy creams, and chicken cutlets the most this year, according to Instacart. Middletowns's delivery preferences are most similar to those of Warwick, RI, the company said.

The preferred ice cream flavors in Middletown were the same as the most popular flavors nationwide: cookies and cream, cookie dough, strawberry, mint chip, and chocolate peanut butter, Instacart said.
Across the U.S., there was an increase in orders for gemelli pasta, cereal bars, and prepared sandwiches and wraps. Orders declined for pork center roasts, wax-covered cheese, and yeast.
