Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Middletown

More rain, flooding possible for the area, and we'll let you know when the rain ends and how much has fallen in Connecticut.

The National Weather Service issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for the entire state of Connecticut, mainly because of the possibility of flooding on Tuesday as the rains begin to end later this evening.

A “Flash Flood Watch” is also in effect for the entire state. Besides the rain and possible flooding the temps will feel about 20 degrees cooler than normal as high temps will be stuck in the mid-50s.

For New London, Middlesex, Fairfield and New Haven counties, periods of some rain are forecast after noon, with flooding a concern until this evening.

According to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network, which monitors precipitation daily, the big winner thus far has been Southington, as parts of the town received 5.33 inches and 3.02 inches of rain on Monday alone.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. North wind around 6 mph becoming east in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69. Calm wind becoming southeast 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 74.

Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
