MIDDLETOWN, CT — A portion of Wadsworth Street is closed as emergency crews are on the scene of a head-on crash with extrication required, according to fire officials.

“E2, R1, and Car 3 are out on Wadsworth St for a 2 car head on motor vehicle accident with extrication required,” the City of Middletown Professional Firefighters Local 1073 union wrote in a post on Facebook. “Please stay clear of the area as Wadsworth St is closed in the 700 block.”

This is the third major crash firefighters have responded to so far today. A vehicle crashed into a home in the area of Washington Street near Newfield Street and West Street earlier this morning and two-car crash temporarily closed the Arrigoni Bridge in both directions.
