We are looking for volunteers to help pick up all the trash along River Road in Middletown (near the old sewage treatment plant) and along the shore of the river in that area. The road is heavily littered and we want to pick up the plastic, paper, glass, and cans before it all washes into the river or harms wildlife. The city said they will clear a safe path for us to access the river shoreline too, for those who are willing and able.Even 1 hour of your time on Saturday, 9/24, will help a lot. The event will start at 9 a.m. and will conclude no later than 12 noon. This is part of the Source to Sea cleanup organized by the Connecticut River Conservancy. If you can help, simply e-mail John Hall jhall@thejonahcenter.org and send the words "Sept. 24 cleanup" using this contact link.
