Holiday Schedule For Middletown Sanitation District & Recycling Center

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The Middletown Recycling Center will be closed Monday, Feb. 20. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The Sanitation District will be operating on Monday, February 20. Customers should put their carts out as usual for collection.

In an effort to reduce waste going to incinerators and landfills, the City Sanitation District is participating a Food Scrap to Clean Energy Pilot Program. Food scraps should be separated into the designated green bags and then placed in the regular trash container. Information on this program can be found at https://reducethetrashct.com/middletown/.

Please remember, plastic bags and plastic film are NOT allowed with the curbside recycling. More information on what is acceptable with the recycling, for all of Middletown, is available at www.recyclect.com.
