  • 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Webster Bank’s 10th Annual Giving Tree (363 Main St) will benefit the Amazing Grace Food Pantry. For a list of accepted non-perishable donations needed, please contact Amy Glowka at 860-638-6906 or aglowka@websterbank.com Drop off times are M-W 9am-3pm and Th/F 9am-5pm.
  • 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – All Aboard for Amato’s Toy & Hobby 6thAnnual Holiday Train Exhibit! Relive childhood memories and make new ones at Amato’s Holiday Model Train Display! Don’t miss this interactive family friendly event! See the operating layouts and view the one of kind model train and toy collection in the lower level of Amato’s Toy and Hobby, 395 Main St., Middletown. (Admission is free with a donation of a bag of nonperishable food items for the Amazing Grace Food Pantry (help us help our neighbors in need!)
  • 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Open House at the Mansfield House – Step back in time at the General Joseph Mansfield House (151 Main St) and usher in the holidays. There will be stories for children and guides will lead tours of the home and the museum exhibits. Current exhibits are Hard & Stirring Times: Middletown and the Civil War, and Within these Walls: One House, One Family, Two Centuries, the story of the Mansfield House and the family who lived there. Visitors may also view a display of holiday menus and cards from the Society’s collection. Admission to the Open House is free and all are welcome. No advance reservations are necessary. The Mansfield House, headquarters for the Middlesex County Historical Society, is handicap accessible. For further information contact the Society at 860-346-0746.
  • 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – The Kiwanis Club of Middletown will be staffing the POPCORN & HOT PRETZELS stand in front of the Chamber – stop by to learn more about the organization! Also HOLIDAY MUSIC played by Harvest Woods Audio.
  • 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.Middletown High School Crew Teamselling HOT CHOCOLATE, COFFEE & DESSERTS in front of theChurch of the Holy Trinity!
  • 4:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. – FREE WAGON RIDES along Main Street!
  • 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. – RONALD MCDONALD will meet and greet children and families during the Tree Lightings, courtesy ofMcDonald’s Restaurants – South Main St & Washington St.
  • 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. – Middletown Area Transit HOLIDAY BUS will operate free shuttle service to the South Green fromMiddlesex Chamber!
  • 5:00 p.m.Join the CAROL SING with MIDDLETOWN HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT CHOIR, directed by Michael Gosselin, and the WOODROW WILSON 7TH & 8TH GRADE CHORUS, directed by Steve Matthews, and the KEIGWIN MIDDLE SCHOOL CHORUS, directed by Ali Sinicrope sponsored by Middletown Commission On the Arts, with Emcee Don DeCesare fromWMRD / WLIS Radio!
  • 5:40 p.m. –Led by the MIDDLETOWN HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND, directed by Kimberly Rodriguez, Megan Busath, and Marco Gaylord and the WOODROW WILSON MIDDLE SCHOOL 8TH GRADE BAND, directed by Aaron Sinicrope, as they parade down Main Street!
  • 5:45 p.m.THE CAT IN THE HAT & SPLAT THE CAT arrive on the Wagon Ride with 3rd grade Middletown students, who were chosen by their teachers because they show good citizenship, good behavior, is respectful to others anddemonstrates the spirit of giving in everyday life…from 18 Third Graders, one or more lucky children will be chosen to ride with Santa
  • 5:50 p.m. – SANTA and MAYOR DAN DREW arrive by HORSE & CARRIAGE for the TREE LIGHTING on the South Green, along with, Alexis Volpe, Miss Middletown’s Outstanding Teen 2016!
  • 6:00 p.m. – TREE LIGHTING on the South Green – The MAYOR and SANTA CLAUS will turn on the lights on the big tree on the South Green!
  • 6: 15 p.m. PARADE up Main Street to the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce (393 Main St), where SANTA and THE MAYOR turn on the LIGHTS on the Tree on the Chamber Roof!
  • FREE PICTURES WITH SANTA, courtesy of Pratt & Whitney in front of the Chamber, immediately following the Tree Lighting at the Chamber! Pictures will be taken by Phil Pessina!
  • FREE WAGON RIDES continue until 8:00 p.m.

  • 8:15 p.m. – 8th ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING in front of ELI CANNON’S TAP ROOM, 695 Main Street, where SANTA will arrive by wagon to light the tree, ELVES will be on the sidewalk with Popcorn, Cookies, Hot Chocolate and Treats for the Kids!

Please Note: In case of inclement weather, the Tree Lightings & Parade will be held the next evening, Saturday, November 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

  • 1:30 – 1:45 p.m. – KUNG FU DEMONSTRATION – This 15-minute demonstration by children and adults shows the power and beauty of Kung Fu, as well as its usefulness for self-defense. Watch members of the Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy perform individual and group forms, weapons & bare hand and self-defense…just like in the movies! The demonstration will take place in Middletown Fire Dept
