You are protected under the Good Samaritan Food Donation Act and encouraged to donate of food and grocery products to us for distribution to individuals in need. Just bring the food to the Soup Kitchen, (side door) 617 Main Street, Middletown, between 7 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. You don't even need to call

Sleeping Bag Donations: Many of our guests need good, clean sleeping bags. Call Tracy Thompson, Administrative Assistant, 860-344-0097 x. 10.

Tents: with the warming center now closed, SVDM is collecting tents for guests without shelter. Please bring your packaged tent to 617 Main Street, Middletown.

Warm socks, gloves and hats (non-gender specific), and underwear. Contact Tracy Thompson

Toiletries (hygiene items) are needed year round, as well as during the Christmas season: mens' and womens' deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, tooth paste, tooth brushes, razors and shave cream. Please bring them to our office at 617 Main Street, Middletown, Monday through Friday, 8 to 3.

Stop & Shop gift cards in $10 and $20 amounts are also needed throughout the year to help people with specific needs.
toiletries.jpgGift Giving Program Needs Donations by Dec. 7th . Please consider making a donation of toiletries (shampoo, deodorant, tooth paste, single toothbrushes, soap and razors), a $20 Stop & Shop or Price Chopper gift cards and/or a 1 pound box of candy. During our holiday party on Dec. 8th, we will serve almost 200 guests by sharing a meal, singing carols and giving a gift card attached to a candy box along with a bag of toiletries to each guest. Extra toiletries are distributed throughout the year. Please bring them by 617 Main St. Middletown, M-F 8 to 3 by Mon. Dec. 7th the latest, or contact Tracy@svdmiddletown.org or (860) 344-0097 x 10.


Participate in Families Feeding Families . Join area businesses, churches, schools and individual families who have committed themselves to providing monthly contributions of food to maintain Amazing Grace pantry services.

Food items: Hold food drives at schools, churches and businesses. Contact Kathleen Kelly, 860.347-3222.

Prepare a Housewarming Basket for a new person or family moving into a new apartment. (Housewarming Basket list ). Contact Tracy Thompson

Please note: We regret that due to lack of space and handling, we can no longer accept bags of daytime clothing. If you have donations of larger clothing items, we suggest you contact James Woods: Streetfire Ministries (209) 922-6626, (860) 704-9673 (Office), JamesSingsForJesus@gmail.com, or Kim Kincy: (860) 922-6626. These folks specialize in processing and distributing clothing. You may also bring donations to Goodwill. Our guests receive vouchers to G.W. and some find employment there.
