Jan. 1st Medicare Changes Start

A Seminar Will Be At The Senior Center Dec. 13th, at 2:00 PM

Starting January 1, 2018: A new law passed as part of the Connecticut State budget will lower income limits for the Medicare Savings Program. Here is a link to: The Specifics Of The Law!

  • For prescription drug coverage, there is some help for 2018
  • If you are losing QMB benefits and are not on Medicaid, you may want to buy additional coverage or change your Medicare plan option to help with deductibles and cost sharing.
  • Your social security benefits will decrease in 2018. If you lose MSP, your Medicare Part B monthly premium will be deducted directly from your Social Security benefits.

Join us on December 13, 2017, at 2:00 PM for an informational seminar given by Laura Crews, Director of Benefits Access at Senior Resources Area Agency on Aging. There will also be CHOICES counselors available during this time.
