Jazz Up Close Presents Sanah Kadoura
Thursday, April 18, 7:00pm In The Hubbard Room

Resonant Motion, Inc. presents the first of four events in its 2019 Jazz Up Close series, “Can I Get A Witness – Jazz Composition as Storytelling.”
This year’s guests for the popular program, now in its fifth year, will share and discuss a variety of original compositions inspired by and used to tell stories through the medium of instrumental jazz. For this event drummer and composer Sanah Kadoura leads a quartet featuring saxophonist Sam Dillon, accompanied by bassist Henry Lugo and pianist and series curator Noah Baerman.
An electrifying Lebanese-Canadian drummer now based in New York, Sanah Kadoura has performed and toured the world with jazz masters and important young musicians alike, including Roy Hargrove, Ed Cherry, Kirk Lighstey, Philip Harper, Sullivan Fortner, fellow 2019 Jazz Up Close guest artist Joe Locke, and Pat Bianchi, with whom she recently toured as an opening act for Steely Dan. Her debut album Hawk Eyes features a core band of James Genus, Mark Whitfield and Willerm Delisfort, with guests Tivon Pennicott, Eylem Basaldi, and Jeremy Pelt, musically documenting the story of recent trauma and recovery stemming from a serious head injury.
