K-9 Diezel Retires From Middletown Police Department
Police said K-9 Diezel is looking forward to "unlimited treats, lots of play, and most of all, NOT waking up for the midnight shift!"

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown K-9 Diezel is retiring after five years with the force, police announced on Thursday.
“We would like to take a moment and recognize K-9 Diezel on his retirement!” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “K-9 Diezel and his handler Sgt. Aura Smith were certified in December of 2017. Together, Sgt. Smith & K-9 Diezel had numerous successful tracks, evidence recoveries, and suspect apprehensions.
“You could also always find them at community events or teaching D.A.R.E. Classes. They were the definition of a what it means to be a great team.

“At the age of 6, K-9 Diezel will spend retirement at home with his family. He is looking forward to unlimited treats, lots of play, and most of all, NOT waking up for the midnight shift!
