Kidcity Closes In Middletown Amid Coronavirus Concerns

The popular children's museum announced it is temporarily closing due to concerns over the new coronavirus.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Kidcity, a children’s museum in Middletown, has temporarily closed amid concerns over the new coronavirus. Officials said they will re-open “when it seems right.”

“Even though no one here has had so much as a sniffle, we’ve decided to close Kidcity for a bit,” officials said in a statement. “We know that people come to the museum from all areas, and we can’t always predict when it will get crowded, so we decided it was just wiser to close our doors.

“Fortunately, the coronavirus seems to go easy on young people - but lots of our visitors are grandparents! We’d be devastated if they got sick on our watch. We hope this won’t last too long - we’ll re-open when it seems right. In the meantime, we plan to keep paying our staff and keep busy with our ‘honey do’ lists. We want to let members know that we’ll be adding our ‘closed’ time to the end of everyone’s membership.
