Knudsen honored for 25 years at WIHS
On air announcer, producer and music director has deep roots in Middletown area

Connecticut is known as “The Land of Steady Habits,” and On Air Announcer, Producer and Music Director Neil Knudsen fits that description to a “T.” Born in Middletown, Knudsen grew up in Haddam Neck and graduated from Haddam-Killingworth High School, where he was heavily involved in television production. He then graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and attended Middlesex Community College, focusing on Audio Production. Throughout his early career, radio was a common thread, which resulted in his employment at WIHS 104.9 FM Christian radio in the fall of 1997. Knudsen and his family live in Middletown and worship at Wethersfield Evangelical Free Church, where he serves as main sound technician.
WIHS is operated by Connecticut Radio Fellowship, a 501c(3) non-profit organization. The call letters stand for We're In His Service. The station has been on the air 24/7 since October of 1969, and employs over 20 full- and part-time employees, all of whom reside in Connecticut. "WIHS is like a supermarket full of uplifting Christian content for all ages, from kids to seniors." says Drew Crandall, President of Connecticut Radio Fellowship; "We offer an eclectic mix of preaching, teaching, music and public affairs programming that brings hope and encouragement to listeners across the State and beyond." To listen, tune in at 104.9 FM or log onto the live stream at www.WIHSradio.org.
