Last Chance for Middletown Cat [UPDATE]

Animal Control said the orange cat's hold time is up Friday, Aug. 28. They're asking everyone to share this post and help save a cat's life.

Middletown Animal Control found a cat wandering around Tryon Street in Middletown and initially thought he may have been feral. A vet took the time to get to know the cat and thinks he deserves a chance.

The cat’s hold time ends Friday, Aug. 28, and Animal Control has no options for him beyond that date.

“He ran into someone’s home and then became cranky and difficult,” Animal Control said. “We have been unable to find his owner and thought he might be feral. Our vet has taken pity on him and really tried to get to know him. He is not feral but is not a social butterfly.”

Animal Control said the orange cat likes head scratches on his terms and while he can swat, he mainly keeps his claws in.

If anyone is interested in adopting the cat, Middletown Animal Control said they will have the cat neutered. Staff said he is used to being outdoors and would make a great barn cat.
