Legendary Jazz-Fusion Guitarist Frank Gambale at the Kate

OLD SAYBROOK, CT - The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (the Kate) is pleased to present an exciting evening with the Frank Gambale Band featuring Dennis Chambers on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 7:00 pm.

Grammy winning guitar virtuoso, Frank Gambale, exploded on the L.A. scene in the early ‘80s. His meteoric rise to fame is a testament to his passion-powered playing – a style Rolling Stonemagazine called “ferocious." Australian-born and California-based, Gambale is an inspired songwriter with more than 250 songs published on more than 20 albums. His music touches on many styles from rock, funk and jazz to R&B and some Latin and Brazilian influences. As a legendary guitarist, Gambale is an undisputed genius who originated the "sweep picking" technique and elevated it to a precise art form now standard in the guitar lexicon. The "Gambale Sweep Picking Technique" continues to inspire generations of musicians.

Frank Gambale Band featuring Dennis Chambers is a stage full of talent. The members are Gambale on guitar, Sean Wayland on keyboard, Mike Pope on bass, and Chambers (Parliament/Funkadelic, John Scofield Band) on drums.
